JPE Grows Despite Janus

In spite of the anticipated impact from the Supreme Court's Janus decision, JPE has enjoyed a growth spurt.  Just this week, 125 Info Tech Analysts, Accountants, Specialists & other employees reached an agreement with the Connecticut Judicial Branch for voluntary recognition of free choice to join our professional union.  This is a result of organizing efforts, over the last year, by the JPE Executive Board and AFT.

These new members come to JPE from the non-union bargaining unit that have seen crippling increases to their healthcare costs and deprived of cost of living adjustments over the last few years.  It did not take long after the successful negotiation of JPE's Collective Bargaining Agreement for these, and many other non-union Judicial employees, to see the value of the Judicial Professional Employees Union.  These happy folks are not the first to join JPE this year and, so it appears, not the last to come!

Representatives/Stewards Volunteers
by posted 09/26/2018

JPE Members,

Twenty four of your brothers and sisters have stepped up to become Representatives/Stewards.  They attended a full day training, on Monday, learning important policies and procedures in the Union process.  Their commitment will help to ensure that all members of JPE are aware of their rights and will have easier access to Union representation.  Communication is the key to successful unionism so lets begin an on-going dialog on how we can work together to make a better tomorrow for all of us and the community.
